Southern Leopard Frog

Rana sphenocephala

Description:

Had this small frog not jumped across the trail, it would most likely not been seen. This frog is about 6 cm or 2.5 in. It has a green body with light stripes down its sides and along the jaw. The legs are brown and the dark spots make them look striped. Long legs and toes. They are nocturnal and carnivorous.
