This is a great place to learn, and to grow in knowledge of the vast multitude of different species and spottings. I am not trying to throw a cold towel on you and I certainly want you to continue to post many more spottings, I know all mine have not been correct and I am sure that many others have had some of their spottings changed with additional information. My monitor is not the greatest so I can not see your spotting as big as others probably can. Perhaps my friend Liam will come to our aid and give us an ID, the young man is someone I have grown to respect highly for his bird ID's I am rather certain he see my post and respond if he can give us an ID.
No, I'm not sure. I'm new to this and learning! I got that name from the friend I was with, who is a high school science teacher, but I don't know myself.
Let me be the very first to say, Welcome to Project Noah LoriWard. Thanks for sharing your photo with this every growing community of wildlife, and nature lovers. Are you certain these are Sooty Terns? It could be these are all juveniles and there for do not have the markings and the color I would suspect they should. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sooty_Tern
