Bufo americanus
A large toad (?) that hung out on our cement drive just outside our garage for a week straight.
On or near the cement apron just outside our car garage or in the mowed grass nearby. I also spotted one (not sure if it was the same one) next to the cement foundation of our cabin. Our land butts up to a freshwater lake in the front and wetlands in the far back, behind the garage. Within a seven mile radius we also have wetlands, woodlands, farmlands, lakes and sloughs.
We have a security light that stays on (dim) all night and one that is motion activated (much brighter) that stays on for 5-7 minutes after being activated. The security lights and indoor cabin lights attract a lot of bugs so I think this handsome devil was simply taking advantage of having or finding an easy meal. I typically only saw him at or after dusk however, the one near the cabin was seen during the day in the shade near dirt, hostas and the cooler cement foundation of the cabin.

CarolSnowMilne-I've had other people say something similar. Perhaps its a male/female or age difference...? Like how very young fawns have spots on their fur or how the male Northern Cardinal is dark red but the female is more of a split-pea soup (yellow and green) color yet similar in size and shape otherwise. Thank you!
I found an Eastern American Toad. Very similar, but yours has so many red warts it looked different. Your toad looks very cool! Glad you got an ID. I am bad at toads and frog ID.
CarolSnowMilne-I think LisaPowers has it; the American Toad it is. Thank you!!
LisaPowers-Nailed it!! Thank you so much! :-)
This is an American Toad, Anaxyrus americanus. Unfortunately the Suggest ID button is not working for me.
