Description:

shiny black cricket about 1 inch (25mm) in length, with white at the root of its wings just behind the thorax and very obvious trifid projections at the tail, not sure whether this was a female ovipositor or a male with wing extensions.

Habitat:

dry arid bush savannah with hot summers and dry winters.
