Red-winged Parrots

Aprosmictus erythropterus

Notes:

I saw these parrots feeding on grass stalks near the Railway Dam in the Roma Bush Gardens; a striking burst of colour against the drought-ravaged vegetation. Red-winged Parrots are found in open, dry woodlands, timber-lined watercourses and arid scrub and sometimes in mangroves.

Great shot. I've found these birds to be very flighty in the wild.
