Baya Weaver - Nest

Ploceus philippinus

Description:

This is a nest of Baya Weavers that i found in my backyard. Usually, they built their nest on the high tree or inaccessible spot. But, this nest was built on electric wire that can be easily accessed.

Habitat:

- Spotted in my backyard. Usually, the birds are found in grasslands, cultivated areas, scrub, and secondary growth. They built their nest on thorny trees or palm fronds, and the nests are often built near water.

Notes:

- This weaver birds is from the Ploceidae family. They can be found across the Indian Subcontinent and Southeast Asia.
