Mountain bluebirds and Western bluebirds

Sialia currucoides and Sialia mexicana

Notes:

We took a short but steep hike up to a cave on a expansive sandstone butte. On top of the butte was an incredible ecosystem. Junipers grew out of solid sandstone, tall grassed blew in the wind and fresh water trapped in stone pools allowed for a lot of diverse bird life! We saw ravens, red-tailed hawks, sparrows, thrushes and these incredibly vibrant bluebirds that numbered close to 50!
