A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Numenius phaeopus
Solitary and illusive, I can only wish I could take another frame one step closer, but between me and this wader, I'm the only protruding object against the flat receded tide. Contrary to what was written as common and the most widespread of the curlew, I made just a few encounters in 5 years, one in Olango, Cebu, one in Puerto Pricesa, Palawan, one in Balanga, Bataan and one in Calatagan, Batangas, Philippines.
IUCN Conservation Status: Least Concern
