In the Asilidae family... but I don't know any further ID than that. This guy just landed in front of me on a footpath with this dead hoverfly, I could only get one clear picture before he flew away. Any help on the ID front would be great. I found him in an area that has many trees, but is next to a lake (so fairly damp) if that helps anyone.
