Big Horn Sheep (male)

Ovis canadensis canadensis

Description:

Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep Ovis canadensis canadensis. Habitat: from British Columbia to Arizona.

Habitat:

Royal Gorge, Canyon City, Colorado These animals live in the Rocky Mountains. This population is captive held. There are conservation efforts. They are tagged babies and mommas in there with what looks like one adult male. It is not a petting zoo, but people walk by and take photos.

Notes:

Captive population. This is not my pic. I posted this with permission from the photographer/copyright holder. Before she left for a trip to Colorado Springs, she asked to borrow my camera, specifically taking these Rocky Mountain pics for this mission and Bioblitz for Project Noah.
