Clavaria amoena
Delicate club-shaped coral fungus. Stems with fruiting bodies from 30-70mm tall and about 2mm diameter base up to 10mm diameter around the club. Characteristic bright yellow/gold that really stands out on the forest floor.
Grows from the ground and also on very rotted wood. This one spotted in Pirongia Forest Park in the North Island of NZ in dense native forest.
Wet dreary day on the mountain and the colour of this little fungus stood out dramatically.
