Red-spotted Purple

Description:

Blue and black butterfly with iridescent blue markings on top of its wings. Has red spots in the top corners of its fore-wings.

Habitat:

Saw this butterfly on some trees near a cell site I was working at today. It's in a suburb of Atlanta, GA.

Notes:

Really striking butterfly. It wouldn't sit still long enough for me to get a real clear shot of it, so the blurry pics is all I was able to get.
