Osprey (mated pair)

Pandion haliaetus

Description:

Large hawks that predominantly eat fish. They are brown on back and wings with white chest and head, hooked beak and long sharp talons. This pair were seen with one sitting on top of a palm tree trunk and the other bringing in nesting material. One was also chasing off vultures making me think this was a nesting site for having young.

Habitat:

Wetlands on top of palm tree trunk
