Maximum body length of about 33 mm. Pupil horizontal. The adult color pattern is extremely variable and has led to many systematic and nomenclatural uncertainties about this superspecies.

All pictures are of the same frog. First two in the sun, and last three after he jumped and took cover in a small creek in the shadow. First picture is just before he jumped, so I guess he is aiming for the perfect spot...
