Sluggish Katydid

Hemisaga sp (nymph)

Description:

About 2.5cm long, green with white lines behind the eyes, on head, thorax, and abdomen; two inverted red triangles on upper side of thorax and a red line down the centre of the abdomen; one red and white spot at the base of 2nd and 3rd leg pairs, plus red 'feet' and 'knees'.

Habitat:

Found on pumpkin flower in veggie patch, in coastal area with plenty of tea-trees (Melaleuca sp) near Peaceful Bay.

Notes:

Pictures of sluggish katydids (Hemisaga sp) look somewhat similar.
