American Bumblebee

Description:

This little bumblebee's head is black, the top of the thorax has a yellow band, the top three bands of the abdomen are yellow; the tail, legs and wings are black.

Habitat:

On a Mexican Sunflower in urban schoolyard garden

Notes:

We have lots of our big & small Carpenter bumblebees, but it is rare to see this one. It is native and threatened.
