Should be Anisorrhina sp., Melinesthes is the subgenus. Or do you have other infos?

Thanks a lot bayucca, it does look a lot like M. algoensis and elongate.

Scarabaeidae, Cetoniinae, Anisorrhina as genus and Melinesthes as subgenus. Species is tricky, since I am not really sure how trustable all the IDs are you will found. Quite common in RSA is Anisorrhina algoensis which is probably also yours, but I am not sure. There is a Anisorrhina elongata from Tanzania which could also be yours. There is also Anisorrhina sternalis. But I guess there are others around in Malawi. I am not really familiar with the biogeographics in and around Malawi.
