Description:

The Great Blue Heron is the largest of the North American herons.

Habitat:

Marshes, swamps, and along shores are where herons can be found. They feed in shallow waters and hunt in both the day and night. Herons eat fish, frogs, turtles, and even small rodents. They nest in trees or small shrubs near the shore.
