Ahh yes, thank you for telling me that. I was wondering whether they were maybe male and female of the same species. New to this but they were both in my mothers garden. Beautiful

I love that you have posted pictures of both a Palamedes and a Spicebush Swallowtail in very similar poses. It is useful to be able to compare and contrast the two species. This individual can be distinguished as a SpiceBush Swallowtail by the row of orange spots, separated by a blue streak, on the hindwing. Also, it lacks the submarginal yellow stripe that is unique to the Palamedes Swallowtail.
