Family Geotrupidae. Looks like a female because of the lack of horns. I'd say Anthyrus sp. There's a list of Geotrupids for Costa Rica at: http://coleoptera-neotropical.org/pagina...

Neat little guy. It almost looks like a hairy dung scarab. All that hair doesn't seem very practical for messing around in the dung though. And he is not dirty. What was he doing?
