Milkweed Assassin Bug

Zelus Longipes

Description:

Red with white spots, long black legs. Has a beak used to pierce their prey, which they hunt in ambush fashion. Eat most any insect they can overpower. The beak can also pierce human flesh, and they will attack.

Habitat:

Yard

Notes:

I watched this one stalk its prey. Amazingly fast and aggressive. Also, you have to zoom in one the photo to get a good look at it.
