Also goes as Palm Dove. Small dove, distinctively colored - blue-grey wing coverts with rusty colored back and speckled rufous breast band, but without the neck collar.
This dove has a very wide range, can be seen all over Africa (and many parts of Asia), in all ecological environments except forests. Here, seen close to human habitations, at the outskirts of a small village in Kanem, Chad - Sahel belt, arid area.
