Description:

A clump-forming perennial 20-30cm in height. Leaves 7-20cm long, composed of twenty-one to forty-one oblong to ovate leaflets. Flowers 2-3cm long, purple, in an ovoid raceme, summer. Southern Europe to western Ukraine in dry stony places.

Habitat:

Prefers a sunny site and can withstand temperatures down to -23,3º C. It grows best in sand and sandy-gritty soil that is dry. native to the Iberian Peninsula, France, Switzerland, the Apennine Peninsula, the Balkan Peninsula, Eastern Europe and northwest Africa.
