Pokeweed

Phytolacca americana

Description:

highly toxic to livestock and humans, berries in all different stages of maturity

Habitat:

clearing

Notes:

I couldn't resist photographing this huge patch of pokweed in a clearing in Short Hills provincial park. I really liked that the plant was in a nearly all its stages from flower to ripe fruit. Not sure which photo to lead with, I like them all! Any suggestions appreciated.
