My first spotting of a totally wild owl.I saw this mama barn owl in a barn where she has a nest. She was a tired and sleepy mom.I am not revealing her true location.Looks like she has a scratch on the forehead.

Dixie,be patient,ask questions! More chances of you seeing one in the breeding season.Also for a barn owl,they prefer palm trees. You might also find some owl pellets under the palm tree.Good Luck!! and Thanks!!

Fantastic! I've been searching for owls myself. We have a visitor all the time but I haven't been able to get a pic. I'm jealous!

Hema, Come over. There is a pair of Barn owls that nest (and are nesting) right next to my home. And congrats; great shot of the sleepy Mom.

And it's the elusive spottings that are the most rewarding. Three years was worth every minute, I'm sure, to come up with a prize like this. What a rush, and such positive energy :-)

Thanks Neil.it took me 3 yrs to find an owl in the wild. Thick vegetation and such elusive creatures.
