About 2.5 inches long, smooth, brown back, faint dark stripes on back legs, white belly with brown spots.
East Texas Piney Woods.
Found in moist dirt in an outdoor dog kennel, about 100 feet from a pond. Took some pictures and then returned it. ID by Ashley T.
Thank you! I hear one occasionally in the pond, but I can never spot it, so I was not familiar with this species.
