Description:

Family: Erebidae, Subfamily: Arctiinae, Tribe: Arctiini. A common tiger moth caterpillar of Eastern North America. Long black, reddish brown and white hairs. White spots at the side. (Larva also called Yellow Wooly as color is variable from yellow to orange to black) Feeds on low-growing plants such as clover or grasses (shown). 1.50 inches in length. (3.81 cm)

Habitat:

Meadow with low plants.
