Amethyst deceiver

Laccaria amethystina

Description:

No distinctive taste, quite chewy even when cooked. This park (woodbank park) was full of the amethyst deceiver. I probably saw over 300 fruit bodies total in this area of the park with beech but this troop was the most photogenic, trooping in a perfect circle!

Notes:

no code no sample

Love the colour of these! I've noticed you sometimes post plants too. You should join the Plants of Britain mission: www.projectnoah.org/missions/22624101 - Happy spotting!

Incredible colour. I guess not many naturally blue things end up good to eat.
