Buprestid Beetle

Description:

This Buprestid Beetle was about 45 mm long and black and gray in color. The second photo shows the underside of the beetle when it moved to a window. The head, thorax and abdomen all fared together to form an oval shape. The beetle is in the Family Buprestidae.

Habitat:

This spotting was initially made in a garden area with Oleander shrubs in a residential area near a small pond. The area is considered tropical. The specimen eventually moved to a house.
