Weak stemmed plant with flowers in loose clusters of violet-blue bells. A common name for this plant is Jacob's Ladder, which refers to the ladder-like arrangement of the leaves.

Habitat:

Growing in a mixed forest bordering a swamp.

Notes:

Traditionally, the root was used by Native Americans to treat a variety of conditions.
