Vireo

The Western form, S.p. palmarum, is the nominate form. They are much more drab than the Eastern form, S.p. hypochrysea.

The reason for the common name "Western" is range. Their breeding range is more extensive than Eastern. Eastern breed in the Northeast. Both subspecies winter in the Southeast.
