Description:

This is a big moth, 2 cm in length and is probably Samea ecclesiales, the Assembly Moth which has a distribution from Canada through South America and is very variable in wing pattern as can be seen in the references. Family Crambidae.

Habitat:

Garden lights, semi-rural residential area, San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico, 2,200 meters.
