Wood Duck

Aix sponsa

Description:

Some sleeping wood ducks at the Tulsa Zoo in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Wood ducks are also known as Carolina ducks, which is neat, since I was born in South Carolina. They're perching ducks, which means, obviously that they roost in trees. I really like these guys based on their color and temperament.

Habitat:

Native to Native America.
