Mushroom

Description:

Mushroom fungi.

Habitat:

Botanical Gardens of Morgantown, Forest

Notes:

I homeschool. We went into the forest and found many various fungi. We took pictures and attempted to identify them all. This was the only one we could not. Any help would be most appreciated.

I wasn't sure either about the species, so I checked relevant image galleries, and it gave me a similar pic, but still...
That's why I asked how big it was...
Your ID suggestion, looks more likely :)

This looks more like Pholiota Squarosa than a Macrolepiota Procera, Despina. Plus the Parasol mushroom never has this color.

If memory serves it was about 1.5 to 2 inches. Will go see if I can find it next week. Thanks so much. The kids are so excited about this and you are the first comment :) Many thanks!
