Striped red mullet

Mullus surmuletus

Description:

About 25 cm long, this one was mainly silvery grey with a long and thick lateral brownish stripe.

Habitat:

Widespread in Atlantic, Black and Mediterranean sea, the Surmullet is a a common fish in Adriatic. Here observed couple of times, in a rather shallow waters, 2 to 3 meters deep, between rocks and on rocky bottoms in shallow waters close to shores.
