Coccothraustes vespertinus
This is a male Evening Grosbeak. The beak is very strong and ivory, which earned him his name. A bright yellow stripe above the eye (brow) through the front. The cap is black. Neck, throat and neck are brown. Chest changes from brown to yellow and becomes increasingly bright yellow under the tail. The exterior of the wings is black with a large white spot.
Lives in forests, parks, countryside and can be seen in the suburbs. Present throughout Quebec south of James Bay.
