Owl Moth

Erebus sp.

Description:

Medium sized moth with two very prominent eyes spots on the wings The edges of the wings look fringed because of the lighter colour in contrast to the darker colour of the rest of the body.

Habitat:

Sitting very high up on the walls of the porch having been drawn there by the light. This is Village Kolakham a remote and forested area.

Notes:

I stood on the chair and extended my arms and shot blind...sorry for the slightly out of focus shot. It is a gorgeous moth.
