Thanks for the help S Frazier. It does look like it is from the Amphibolurus family and looks very similar to the norrisi however the distribution is only to the western border of Victoria from what I can find.
The muricatus species shows up in the right area but I'm not 100% on the ID - http://www.arod.com.au/arod/reptilia/Squ...
