A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
This small ground cover was growing in some areas of the open plazas within the Mayan Ruins of Edzná in Campeche. Standing above the plant, it looks to be covered with small white flowers, however up close, each flower head looks more like a composite with tiny flowers around the edges. This plant is sold in the market place in Oaxaca for canaries and was used in our household for all the small caged birds. They called it Flor de Pajarito. I haven't been able to find any reference for this plant.

Very nice set of photographs that will be helpful in identifying the plant.
