Atlas Moth

Attacus atlas

Description:

Better known as biggest moth in the world, this specii was almost 11 inches in width.

Habitat:

Western Ghats of India, but visited a residential area. Rested on the carton box kept in the balcony of my neighbour.

Notes:

This particular specii was resting on carton box without moving. On careful examination it was found that it had eggs on its belly, perhaps laid 2 eggs on carton box itself. Next day, it disappeared from the area.
