Great Horned Owl

Bubo virginianus

Description:

This species is widely distributed in the Mojave Desert...I have mainly spotted it in riparian and urban areas. This spotting was in the Tule Springs/Floyd Lamb Park area in Las Vegas. My experience has been that when perched high in a tree...they are not intimidated by humans.

Habitat:

In the Mojave...urban areas, and Riparian areas.
