Hypericum empetrifolium

Description:

Very small shrub, about 25 cm high with bright yellow 5-petalled flowers and small thick leaves about 7mm x 2 mm.

Habitat:

Roadside amongst other small shrubs at elevation of maybe 500 m

Notes:

Hellmut Baumann in 'Wildflowers of Greece' records that this species was highly valued by the ancients as a remedy for wounds.
