Australian/Yellow Admiral Butterfly

The yellow admiral or Australian admiral (Vanessa itea) is a butterfly native to Australia, New Zealand, Lord Howe Island, and Norfolk Islands. Medium size butterfly with Wingspan up to 6 cm . Caterpillars feed on plants of the nettle family. Including the introduced to Australia stinging nettle

Habitat:

This particular one kindly landed for a rest in my garden. I have seen them a number of times flitting through my yard, but this was the first one I've noticed that landed long enough for me to get photos
