Geometrid Moth

Description:

This was a very friendly little moth which is unusual for a Geometrid. It looks more like a butterfly than a moth, but is not day-flying. It also does not like to open its wings and always rests with the wings closed together. See the upper side in Picture 2. Family Geometridae.

Habitat:

Garden lights, semi-rural residential area, San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico, 2,200 meters.
