Pinicola enucleator
This is a male Pine Grosbeak. It is roughly the size of an American Robin.
Found in Iron River, MI living in a heavily wooded area.
This bird was not as tame as the Chicadees I also saw and made captures of, but it was not afraid to come fairly close to me to allow me get some rather detailed photos of him.

Perils, your going to get my eyes tearing up, that is so very sweet of you to say something so nice.
Fantastic photos!
we missed you.
Thank you so very much PerilsOfPlastic. I hope I can find time to get out and both find, and photograph wildlife this winter.
nice to see you back with this lovely spot!
Thank You Ceherzog, life was rather complicated for some time, with my job in flux, and me watching my grand kids on a regular basis. I had little time to get out and view or photograph wildlife. Hopefully I can find some more time this winter to get out and view and photograph some wonderful birds, and perhaps other wildlife as well. Thanks for the wonderful greeting, it means a lot to me.
Very nice Willie! Good to see your work again!
