Arthropodium cirratum

Description:

Spotted Wairakei stream reserve Rengarenga (or renga lily, rock lily, maikaka) is a clumping evergreen with fleshy green to mid-green lanceolate (lance shaped) to oblanceolate (widest towards the top) leaves 30-60cm or more long and 3-10cm wide. During summer it produces many branched flower stems. After summer the seed capsules become a prominent feature.

Habitat:

Usually grows on cliffs and clay or rock banks around the shore or near the shore and sometimes as an understorey plant in open coastal scrub or forest.
