Spotted Forktail

Enicurus maculatus

Description:

Aptly named (you can see why in the second photo) avian beauty in black and white.

Habitat:

On the far side of River Tirthan (as seen from my balcony) in Himachal Pradesh, India. The river is a boulder-strewn, fast flowing, shallow, mountain stream. Saw the bird just once, at dawn, during our three nights stay here.

Notes:

Lifer for me. Wish it had been closer and I had got better shots. Grateful for the glimpse nonetheless. Only second time this is making an appearance on PN.
