Haemorhous mexicanus
Streak back and belly of brown and white. Head chest and rump is mostly red. The variant colors of yellow and orange are due to age. The shades of the male red is diet during breeding. The females look for the darker red, probably cause they look the healthiest.
Found in many types of habitats. Foraging on the ground and roosting high in trees.
