Rabid Wolf Spider

Rabidosa rabida

Description:

Large, pale yellow and brown Lycosid spider (around 4 inches long) with a striped cephalothorax. Abdomen has a similarly colored stripe that is more ornate in design. Front legs are darker when compared to other legs.

Habitat:

Front porch lights near front yard/open field.

Nice find! I really like wolf spiders. This one is a male, the dark front legs identify him as such.

I removed this and several other of your spottings from the Signs of Wildlife mission. That mission is not for actual living organisms, it is for signs left behind like animal tracks, empty webs, egg shells, shed skins, etc. Please make sure to read the mission descriptions carefully before submitting spottings to them.
