Description:

Large dense shrub with soft light green leaves and star shaped white flowers with 8 petals.

Habitat:

Unmanaged olive grove at maybe 50 m elevation.

Notes:

Gorgeous plant eminently suitable for gardens. Hellmut Baumann in 'Greek wildflowers' that ancients used as incense the scented resin (storax) of this plant. Also that the plant may have been introduced to Greece via Crete by the Phoenicians.
